Major, Minor, and Concentration Final Review for Your Students

Departments are required to give the final sign-off on the major/minor/concentration requirements for each student before the student can be cleared to graduate. At its simplest, this requires one step: satisfaction of the Final Review milestone. Before this can be done, however, you must carefully review each student's audit and determine whether all requirements have been met. This may require posting Exceptions and reconciling incomplete grades. To proceed:

  1. Create a Clearance Roster List
  2. For each of your students' program audits, verify that the requirements sections have a green or yellow checkmark. But even if program requirements are still outstanding, you should still move to the next step.
  3. Then complete the Final Review using the Record Attempt button. Select 'Mark as Satisfied' to confirm that you have reviewed the student's audit. Regardless of the student's graduation readiness, do not click 'Mark as not Satisfied.'
  4. Confirm that the milestone is now a green flag, indicating that the Final Review is complete.

Note: The Final Review 'Mark as Satisfied' does not mean that the student has completed all requirements and is ready to graduate. Instead, it only means that you have conducted your review of the student's audit and are providing departmental sign-off on what the audit says about the student's degree status.

If the audit contains outstanding requirements (red square with numbers, instead of colored checkmark(s)), select 'Mark as Satisfied' to confirm that you acknowledge that the student has not completed the program at this time and should not graduate with this program on their record. Only students with green checkmarks for all requirements and a "Mark as Satisfied" sign-off will be considered as approved for graduation.

Regardless of academic progress, a Final Review must be completed for all students on your clearance list. For guidance on reviewing students whose clearances are incomplete, require modification, or should be denied, click here
