Approving Proposals

A Proposal Approver gives the final approval to add a new course to the Inventory. Has the ability to approve, deny, or send the Proposal back to the Author for edits. (e.g., School COI)

  • In some Schools, the same person may have the Reviewer and Approver roles.
  • Some Schools may have multiple users with the Approver role - only one should be designated to click “Approve.”
  • Course Management users with the Approver role will be notified via email when there is a Proposal ready for final Approval.

On the Proposal dashboard, Approvers will see all of the Proposals pending Approval along with the Author Name and Submitted dates. When Approving a Proposal, Reviewers have several options.

Approval Dashboard

if the Course Proposal meets the School teaching and learning  requirements, an Approver can Approve the Proposal. This action will create the course in the Inventory.

an Approver can request that the Author modify the Proposal. The modifications requested will be captured in the Comments on the Proposal. Once the Author makes the changes, they will resubmit the Proposal to the Reviewer.

an Approver can modify the Proposal directly instead of sending it back for edits.

Modify Proposal

an Author can deny the Proposal. This will deactivate the Proposal and preclude any further submission/edits.
