Grading Mode
Grading Mode determines what grades an instructor may assign to students enrolled in a section.
Standard
Standard grading mode is the default grades available to a host School. Individual schools, such as General Studies or School of the Arts, will have varying default grades. Students from non-host Schools that are cross-registered may accept other grade options in SSOL according to the student's academic program.
Ungraded
Non-academic courses, discussion sections, most 0 point courses, and others that do not require a grade should use the Ungraded grading mode.
Pass/Fail
Courses that should ONLY offer pass/fail grades for all enrollees should use the Pass/Fail grading mode. This grading mode does not allow students to optionally receive a letter grade.
R-Credit
The vast majority of R-credit sections are offered by the GSAS. Students receiving R credit participate in all assignments but are taking the section on a non-evaluatory basis.
